Skin lightening products -- also known as bleaching creams, whiteners, skin brighteners, or fading creams -- work by reducing a pigment called melanin in the skin. Most people who use lighteners do so to treat skin problems such as age spots, acne scars, or discoloration related to hormones.

Elidel cream, also known as pimecrolimus cream, is primarily used to treat atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema, in adults and children aged 2 years and older. It's a steroid-free topical treatment that helps reduce inflammation and associated symptoms like itching and redness. Elidel is often used to manage mild to moderate eczema and can be started at the first sign of symptoms to prevent them from worsening. 

Hydrocortisone topical is used to help relieve redness, itching, swelling, or other discomfort caused by skin conditions. This medicine is a corticosteroid (cortisone-like medicine or steroid). This medicine is available both over-the-counter (OTC) and with your doctor's prescription.

Glycolic acid cream, particularly those containing 6% glycolic acid, is a popular skincare product known for its exfoliating and rejuvenating properties. It is used to address various skin concerns, including acne, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and signs of aging. 

Flucort cream contains fluocinolone acetonide, a corticosteroid used to treat skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It helps reduce redness, swelling, itching, and irritation. The cream is applied in a thin layer to the affected area, usually 2–4 times daily as directed by a doctor. Prolonged use should be avoided to prevent skin thinning or other side effects. Use under medical supervision, especially on sensitive areas like the face.

Elosone-HT Cream is used for the short-term treatment of mild to moderate melasma. It helps reduce scars, marks, blemishes, and dark circles under the eyes. It should always be used along with sun-avoidance measures, like using sunscreens and wearing protective clothing.

Cadila Skin Shine Cream is primarily used to treat melasma, a skin condition causing dark patches, and to lighten skin tone. It combines hydroquinone, tretinoin, and mometasone furoate to reduce hyperpigmentation and inflammation. The cream also helps fade dark spots, acne, and other skin discolorations. 

Mometasone furoate is a potent topical corticosteroid used to relieve itching, redness, and inflammation associated with eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It is applied in a thin layer to affected areas once or twice daily, usually for up to 7–14 days. The cream works by suppressing immune responses and reducing the release of inflammatory substances in the skin. Common side effects may include mild burning, dryness, or skin thinning if used long-term. Use under medical supervision with periodic evaluation for effectiveness and safety.

Beclomethasone dipropionate cream is primarily used to treat various inflammatory skin conditions. It is a topical corticosteroid that helps to reduce redness, swelling, and itching associated with conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It can also be combined with other medications to address fungal or bacterial infections that may accompany these conditions. 

Quadriderm Cream (5gm) is primarily used to treat skin infections caused by bacteria and fungi, relieving symptoms like redness, itching, and swelling. It contains a combination of ingredients including an antifungal, an antibiotic, and a corticosteroid, which work together to address the infection and inflammation. 

Melacare Cream 15 g is formulated to treat discoloration and improve skin texture. It reduces the appearance of dark spots and promotes a more uniform skin tone. Typically used twice daily on clean skin for best results.

 

Triluma is a prescription cream combining hydroquinone (4%), tretinoin (0.05%), and fluocinolone acetonide (0.01%), used primarily to treat moderate‑to‑severe melasma and other forms of hyperpigmentation. It works by lightening dark patches, promoting skin cell turnover for a more even tone, and reducing redness and inflammation. Applied topically once daily (typically at night), the cream delivers visible results within weeks when used under sun protection. Common side effects include mild redness, peeling, dryness, burning, or itching, which often decrease over time. Due to its potency, it should be used in short cycles under dermatological supervision to avoid irritation or skin thinning
